I'm Peter Dimitrakos — Director of Asset Listings at Kraken. 15+ years in financial markets, now at the frontier of crypto: evaluating projects, navigating market structure, and making the case for what comes to market.

From traditional markets to the crypto frontier.
My path runs from traditional markets to the front line of crypto. I started in financial markets in 2009, fell down the Bitcoin rabbit hole around 2012, and from 2014–2017 founded and ran my own crypto mining pool. In 2018 I joined Kraken, one of the longest-standing crypto exchanges in the world.
I came up through the institutional side — from account manager to Senior Manager in Institutional Sales & Account Management — helping build the team from the ground up and leading the people who owned Kraken's largest and most demanding client relationships, driving the decisions and negotiations behind them as the business scaled. In 2024 I moved into Asset Listings, where I'm now Director — leading the diligence on token projects across fundamentals, legals and market structure, and making the case to our listing committee for what's ready to come to market.
I'm hands-on with the technical side, too — a power user who runs his own setups and likes to take new tools apart to see what makes them tick. It's curiosity more than profession, but it's also an edge: staying close to the tech sharpens how I read the whole industry — separating signal from noise, and sensing where it's all headed.

Rose from account manager to senior manager, helping build the institutional team from the ground up — leading the people who owned Kraken's largest, most sophisticated client relationships and growing the institutional book as the exchange scaled worldwide.

Mining Pool / Co-Founder & Operator
It started with my own mining rigs in 2013; soon after, a couple of friends and I founded a crypto mining pool. We became known as one of the fastest to spin up support for new proof-of-work coins the moment they caught fire — the same instinct I lean on in listings today: read what's heating up and make sure Kraken is quick to it.
